Check the listing for details. US Navy USNS Muller TAG-171 Technical Research Ship Naval Security Group. Condition: New. Listed at 5.00 USD. Patch size is 4" new / unused The Muller was created in the Cold War Era by the National Security Agency (NSA) as its own version of the Russian spy trawler and was initially sent to the waters off Cuba in 1960. USNS Muller was named in honor of Congressional Medal of Honor winner Joseph E. Muller who was a U.S. Army Sergeant in WWII. Sergeant Muller, acting independently, repealed an enemy attack by charging their position and pushing them back. He was subsequently killed later in that battle when he sacrificed himself to save his fellow soldiers by throwing himself on a grenade to smother the blast.
