Coin is cast from the ship's blueprint and is to scale to include the flight deck layout. The USS George Washington (CVN-73) is a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1992. It played key roles in numerous operations, including providing security in New York after the 9/11 attacks and supporting missions in the Persian Gulf. In 2008, it became the first nuclear-powered carrier to be stationed outside the continental U.S., based in Japan. It underwent a major overhaul from 2017 to 2023. The ship has supported disaster relief, including after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake.
