This uncirculated 1,000 Vanuatu Vatu note is a commemorative banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu for the 40th anniversary of independence. It is a brown, purple, blue, and green polymer note that is dated 2020, bears the signatures of Simeon Malachi Athy and Maki Simelum, and measures 140 mmx 65 mm. Its obverse side features a conch shell, a waterway, a map of Vanuatu Islands, a Melanesian chief, and a 1980-2020/ 40/ INDEPENDENCE overprint. Its reverse side shows the map of Vanuatu Islands, a flower, a conch shell, four farmers, and a rancher. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of the bank logo.
