You are looking at an obscure older Astatic mic from the 1960's or 70's that was a high quality studio model called the 810. This mic came in a few variation from that time line and was a very good choice for both singing and broadcasting applications. The mic comes with the cable, clip, exterior pop filter and metal case in which to store everything. Pic # 2 shows this very model in an older Astatic catalog I have along with it's basic characteristics. If you've never heard one of these before you'll be quite happy with the tone and strength. The 810 model had a similar look and tone to the Shure 545 series mic of that era. The 810 came with a nice satin chrome handle and was a bit more aggressive looking than you standard stick mic. Very mid century and very handsome. It's only 5 1/2 inches long X 1 inch wide and easy to hold for prolonged periods of time. This mic came in High Z and Low Z but this is a Low Z version and has a very nice warm tone with just the right amount of bass. The 810 series was sold by Astatic for about 15 to 20 years and was a rugged design. A very reliable microphone. These Astatic mics often came with the unique 4 pin XLR connection and that's how this mic was sold. You'll need the 4 pin cable to operate this 810 but one is included. I built it myself so it will last for decades to come. As you can see the mic itself looks very nice overall with just a few lite scratches on the handle. The front screen looks excellent and the original pop filter is still inside. I'm also including the new exterior black foam pop filter for even better sound characteristics. It looks very nice on the mic as well and fits like a glove. The front screen is free of dents, tarnish or odors. I cleaned the 4 pin connection inside the mic as it was tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached. No issues. The mic clip grip the mic firmly. It's brand new and will screw onto any stand you have. It gives a wide degree of tilt up and down and the tension is adjustable via side screw. The mic has a mid century vibe that compliments the mic nicely. The cable that comes with the 810 is appx 18 feet in length. It's soft, pliable and in very nice physical and operating condition. The cable has the standard male Switchcraft 3 pin XLR end connector so that you may use this in any audio equipment you have. Last but not least is the vintage metal case in which to store your items. The case has a practical carrying handle and locking mechanism. It has the original painted mustard color scheme that shows virtually no wear. I added two new foam inner pads to keep the mic safe and snug. It's a very rugged design and compliments the mic nicely. Plenty of room inside for everything as well. It's a great accessory to have to keep these items safe from damage. If you demand an excellent working 810 to use frequently...this is your mic.
