Good condition, vintage hand carved wooden sewing box. Very interesting top with carved scissors and thread spools. Who ever made this carved the scissors from the underside of the lid and skillfully attached that and the spools creating a three demential piece of art.. Naturally distressed. The inside holds a hand carved tray with what appears to be repurposed opaque plastic with a swan on a lake. The bottom has two blocks of wood to hold the tray and afford more storage space on the bottom. The wood has some water stains on the bottom and on the tray but not mold. The hinges are a little loose and the lid slightly warped along the front. Edge wear all around. It measures 12x12 inches and around 7 inches high. A little higher if you count the spools which are elevated. It is pretty heavy as it’s solid wood. Not sure what type, maybe pine. Great vintage primitive piece.
