Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome. With bone in paw, simultaneously menacing and nurturing, this she-wolf curls around a human infant. This relief tile is hand pressed in stoneware and glazed to emphasize its sculptural dimension. Tile measures roughly 4 and 1/4 inches high by 6 inches wide and is and is thinner than most of my tiles, about 3/8 of an inch thick at the edges. It is notched on the back so it can hang on a nail.
