This vintage late 19th century German silver spice box is designed with a magnificent detailed repousse' floral motif. Multiple flowing vines & leaves & roses overwhelm the footed box.Amidst the flora, one finds unmonogrammed polished shields. A large elegant sculpted silver rose adorns the lid cover & serves as a finial. This hinged lid opens to reveal a gold washed interior. The under surface of the box is stamped with hallmarks featuring a crescent moon, a crown, 800 followed by a crown over a shield identifying Germany as the country of origin. This is truly a beautiful silver box ! 4 3/4" tall X 6 5/8" long X 5 3/8" wide Weight: 17.1 troy ounces
