Up for sale is a vintage educational activity called "Writestart." I think this was one of the Discovery Toy items that I used to sell. It was mostly used as a demo item at home parties but my child also enjoyed using it when I had it at home. The box states it "comes with 30 wipe clean activity boards (there are actually 15 double sided activity boards so they call it 30). The boards contain a variety of activities starting with a simple maze and getting progressively more difficult. The next grouping is copying patterns of curves, lines, etc which are the basis for beginning writing. Those are followed by "find the pattern" in the pictures (the patterns are those that were just practiced on the previous cards). The next progression is printing letters and then words. Both upper and lowercase letter practice is provided. One of the last boards is practicing numbers from 1 to 10. All of this is done with a special pencil marker which is easily erased from the board with a soft cloth or tissue. It also includes a "parent book" describing how to use the activity boards and providing suggestions for games to develop writing skills. MANY years ago I sold Discovery Toys and this was one of the items in their catalog. I'm clearing out closets and found it. It was my Demo item for the Discovery Toy parties and is in very good condition. Condition Issues: The soft sponge eraser is missing. (a soft cloth or tissue is easily substituted for it).
