It is also an important constituent of the precipitating bath in the manufacture of viscose rayon. Zinc chloride has applications in the textile industry and as a flux constituent in soldering, aluminum refining, and galvanizing. Zinc chromates are used as corrosion inhibitors and also as bright yellow pigments. Zinc phosphate, in addition to providing corrosion protection to iron and steel, is available in paint form as a pigment in an organic binder and as such is used as an anticorrosive primer on steel.
