Check the listing for details. EXTINCTIONS- VERY DETAILED, 5-ARMED OPHURINA BRITTLESTAR FOSSIL FROM BUNDENBACH!. Listed at 189.99 USD. Name: Ophurina lymani Age: Devonian Formation: Hunsruck Shale (Bundenbach) Location: Bundenbach, Germany Size: Plate is 2.7 inches across! We recently acquired some nice fossils from the late Joseph Butterfield Collection (NJ). We will be auctioning these fossils here over the next few weeks. This is a nice brittlestar fossil. It is a complete Ophurina lymani from the famous Bundenbach slate quarries. Since the quarries have closed, the only way to acquire specimens is from old collections - this specimen is from the Butterfield Collection. The distinct brittlestar has all five arms intact, which is quite unusual. The ancient echinoderm is very well-preserved and displays well on the squared plate of roofing slate. The inflated, 3-D 'star has extremely fine detail intact and was fossilized in a very aesthetic pose. The aesthetic fossil has nice, natural color and contrast, due to the fact that it is replaced with pyrite. This is a very cool, complete brittlestar fossil from the classic German Bundenbach locality.A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. Insurance is included in the cost of shipping.Note: International customers may have to pay a duty at Customs - every country's rules are different.
