The long, heavy blade cut a wide strip and could therefore traverse the defenses of enemy soldiers who were armed with shorter, lighter weapons. It was natural to defend confined spaces such as doors and corridors where there was space. The Cold Steel® version is slightly lighter than some of the originals, giving you the option to wield it with one or both hands. The battle-resistant blade is adorned with a cast brass protector and knob that are decorated with an intricate embossed pattern. The protector and knob are installed in an attractive hard wood handle covered with a braided cord. A rosewood sheath completes the package.
