Viking Sword with Sheath Viking Sword with Sheath The historic Viking sword of the ninth and 10th centuries featured a long, wide blade with a fuller central wide and two sharp edges. The preferred blow was a strong cut or a shear, so the tip was rounded enough but sharp enough to be useful to push. A simple protector with forward-curved quillons was often used and combined with a utilitarian handle made of wood covered in leather (sometimes bone or even cast in brass) and a heavy knob of 5 lobes to balance the long leaf. Manufactured by Cold Steel. Cold Steel®s interpretation of this sword features a double-edged blade that is hand-forged in high-carbon steel, hand-polished and perfectly sharpened. The wooden handle is covered in leather and is supported by a simple and elegant protector at one end and a 5-lobe knob on the other. Both the protector and the knob feature traditional knot ornaments. The Viking sword is supplied with a leather-lined wooden sheath that is reinforced with a polished steel lid and neck.
